Last week saw Hannah Barrett finally eliminated after being in the sing-off for the third time. The Londoner lost to Rough Copy, who were in the bottom two for the first time this series. That leaves Sam Bailey and Nicholas McDonald as the only acts yet to be in the sing-off and Simon Hopper thinks the latter now looks a value bet at 4/1 to win the show...

X Factor 2013 Predictions
Simon’s Recommended X Factor Bets:
Luke Friend 8th Week Elimination @ 7/4 – BET NOWNicholas McDonald To Win @ 4/1 – BET NOWHannah Barrett To Win @ 7/1 (Eliminated – Week 7)
Luke Friend (X Factor Elimination Odds 7/4): This week’s elimination looks very tough and the market is finding it hard to choose between Tamera Foster, Luke Friend and Rough Copy, with Nicholas McDonald and Sam Bailey looking safe. Rough Copy were in the sing-off last week but given no act has been in the bottom two in successive weeks this series, I think the boys will be safe this week. Tamera keeps forgetting her words but has still gone three weeks without being in the sing-off – and would the judges really vote off a girl of such immense talent anyway? That leaves Luke Friend, who has already been in the sing-off and would be very vulnerable against such quality vocalists if he were to drop in again. It’s tough, but if I was forced to have a bet then Luke at 7/4 would be my wager of choice.
Hannah Barrett (X Factor Winner Odds 4/1): With Hannah Barrett now out, I need to pick another outright winner selection and young Nicholas looks the best remaining value at 4/1. While opposing 4/7 Sam Bailey seems foolish right now, the 16 year-old ticks more of the boxes from a trends angle – he’s young, from a big voting area (Scotland) and has also never been in the bottom two. His reliable voice means he’s unlikely to ever produce a bad performance and at 4’s he looks the value call now.
Simon’s verdict on the other X Factor contestants:
Sam Bailey (4/7 fav): Now into just 4/7 to win the show, Sam keeps nailing every song she is given. However, it’s also impossible to deny that she is a lot older than your normal X Factor winner and being from a small voting area like Leicestershire doesn’t help either. She’s certainly the one to beat, but I wouldn’t bother getting involved at 4/7.
Tamera Foster (12/1): Tamera forgot her words for the second week in succession but still managed to avoid the sing-off. However, the boos in the studio when she survived told their own story and she’s surely not popular enough to win the competition.
Rough Copy (14/1): I tipped Rough Copy to be in the bottom two a week too early! I always wrote in this column that I didn’t think the boys were as popular as the market thought and I was proved right last weekend, when they were in the sing-off for the first time. No act has been in the bottom two in successive weeks this series which means they should stay this time around, but I can’t see them winning the show.
