The 2010 African Cup of Nations was the 27th edition of a tournament first held in 1957 and took place between January 10th-31st 2010 in Angola.
The tournament saw hosts Angola joined by 15 nations who successfully advanced from the qualification process that began in October 2007 and involved 53 African national teams.
The 2010 African Nations Cup was won by Egypt for the third successive year - they defeated Ghana 1-0 in the final to win their 7th title and extend their record as the successful team in the history of the tournament.
The 2012 African Nations Cup is scheduled to take place in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. The two host nations will automatically qualify for the tournament.
