About the Guineas Meeting
Last year Aidan O'Brien's Henrythenavigator just got the better of New Approach at betting odds of 11/1. The runner-up went on to land the Epsom Derby later that season, while Henry went on to take the Irish 2,000 Guineas and St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot.
We look set to be in for another fascinating race this year with Brian Meehan's Delegator set to be all the rage after his recent Craven Stakes win at Newmarket, while the Ballydoyle team will be pinning their hopes on Mastercraftsman and Rip Van Winkle.
Twelve months ago the French claimed the prize for the first time since 1992 when their flying grey filly Natagora came over to land the prize. She returned the 11/4 favourite under Christophe Lemaire; however, she's failed to win a single race since.
This season sees the unbeaten filly Rainbow View as the clear favourite. Trained by John Gosden she's now won all her four starts, including the Group One Fillies Mile at the end of the 2008 season. She's had a recent racecourse gallop at HQ and if all goes to plan it will take something extra special to beat her come May.
