Having commenced on March 16 th in Australia and ending on November 2nd in Brazil 18 races later, the 2008 Formula One Championship is a truly global sporting event.
British interest has been reinvigorated by the emergence of Lewis Hamilton, and his opening victory in Melbourne brought the Drivers Championship betting markets to fever pitch. However, his bid to become the first British driver to win the title since Damon Hill in 1996 has since taken a dent.
The subsequent emergence of Ferrari and their drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa has seen Hamilton drift in the market and made the Marinello outfit a short odds-on price to lift the Constructors Championship for a 16th time.
