The ICC World Twenty20 (or Twenty20 World Cup) is the international championship of Twenty20 cricket, organised by the ICC.

All Test-playing nations achieve automatic qualification to the ICC World Twenty20, with the remaining places filled by ICC associate member nations through a qualification tournament.

The inaugural ICC World Twenty20 event in 2007 was won by India, who defeated Pakistan by 5 runs in the final staged in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Pakistan made amends in the 2009 competition, defeating Sri Lanka by 8 wickets to win the tournament at Lord's.

The 2010 ICC World Twenty20 was held in the West Indies between 30th April and 16th May and was won by England.
