Chelsea v Man United (Sun, 16:00, SS1)
Recommended football betting tip:
Over 2.5 Goals @ 26/25 – BET NOW
Chelsea’s home games have been extremely high scoring this season and it’s worth taking odds against quotes about that trend continuing at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Blues have been over 2.5 goals in nine of their 11 home Premier League games this season, including all of their matches against top seven clubs; Man City (2-1), Liverpool (1-2) and Arsenal (3-5). This would indicate that they struggle to contain quality attacking sides at the Bridge, and that problem will be exaggerated by the suspension of Ashley Cole here. However, they have still been prolific at the other end, averaging over 2 goals per game at home and no-one has stopped them netting in SW6 this term.
Meanwhile, Man United are scoring an average of 1.9 goals per game away from home this season and they should be able to restore the blossoming Wayne Rooney/Danny Welbeck partnership up front – the pair have scored over 33% of United’s league goals between them this term. United have been over 2.5 goals in their last three successive away Premier League games and Sir Alex Ferguson cannot afford to play for a draw here – they are within touching distance of Man City now and the Scot will be desperate to keep the pressure on their neighbours after their recent wobbly form.
This has the makings of a decent game and 26/25 looks a decent price on Chelsea’s strong home over 2.5 goals trend continuing.
Premier League Preview
Chelsea currently occupy the 4th and final Champions League spot but the likes of Newcastle, Liverpool and Arsenal are all hot on their heels. The Blues’ top four odds are currently a best price 8/15 though the three aforementioned sides are all within five points of them before the weekend kick-offs. Man United have won their last three consecutive Premier League games to claw back the deficit on Man City and their Premier League winner odds are into a best price 13/8.
