X Factor Tips
Last week saw long-time favourite Tamera Foster depart the show, after losing to Luke Friend in the sing-off. It was Tamera’s second appearance in the bottom two, with the judges clearly feeling that she’d forgotten her lyrics once too often. Our X Factor tipster Simon Hopper had backed Luke for elimination so he was gutted at the result, but he’s backing Rough Copy to be the act in trouble on semi-final weekend...

X Factor 2013 Predictions
Simon’s Recommended X Factor Bets:
Rough Copy Semi-Final Elimination @ 11/10 – BET NOW
Nicholas McDonald To Win @ 4/1 (now 11/2) – BET NOW
Hannah Barrett To Win @ 7/1 (Eliminated – Week 7)
Rough Copy (X Factor Elimination Odds 11/10): The boys avoided last week’s sing-off but there’s a strong trend of acts who go bottom two/safe/bottom two. It happened to Hannah Barrett, it happened to Luke Friend, and it’s quite easy to see it happening to Rough Copy too after they were in the sing-off a fortnight ago. There’s only four acts left now and with Sam Bailey and Nicholas McDonald never having been in the sing-off, it’s likely to be Rough Copy against Luke – and we saw last week how highly the judges rate the latter. They may be elimination favourites but I still think 11/10 (William Hill) is a decent price on Rough Copy going out this week.
Nicholas McDonald (X Factor Winner Odds 11/2): Nicholas again sailed through last week despite having the nightmare scenario of opening the show so he must have very strong support. Though his price has drifted slightly to 11/2 from the 4/1 we tipped him at last week, I’m not concerned and he looks a safe bet to make the final.
Simon’s verdict on the other X Factor contestants:
Sam Bailey (2/5 fav): Sam’s odds keep getting shorter every week – she’s now just 2/5 and could go into the final as one of the hottest favourites in the show’s history. Again she nailed both of her performances and it would be a shock of seismic proportions if she wasn’t in the final.
Luke Friend (9/1): Having tipped Luke to go last week, I was delighted that he was in the sing-off and actually thought he’d have trouble coming up against Tamera. However, fair play to the Devon busker as he pulled out the stops and the judges clearly have a soft spot for him. But his lack of public support will cost him even if he does make the final.
