Euro 2012 Tips

Euro 2012 Group A Preview

(By Ross Casey)

Poland to Qualify from Group A @ 21/20 – BET NOW

Joint hosts Poland have been drawn in the easier group and home advantage will be key for the White Eagles, as they now have a side capable of going places in a big tournament. After previous years of flattering to deceive where they were already eliminated going into their final group game, Poland should fare much better in 2012. The attacking flair of Robert Lewandowski and Jakub Błaszczykowski will give the opposition plenty to think about whilst Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczęsny will offer safe hands behind a relatively naive defence, something he should be used to from his club matches. Baring all of this in mind odds of 21/20 seem a fair price for Poland to qualify from Group A.

Euro 2012 Group B Preview

Denmark to Qualify from Group B @ 9/2 – BET NOW

Group B in Euro 2012 has been described as the ‘group of death’ by many pundits, but if we assume that Germany will qualify for the knockout stages then the key matches will be the games involving the other three teams.

But don’t write off the Danes who at the backend of 2010 drew 2-2 with Germany and haven’t lost an international match by more than one goal since going down 3-1 to Portugal in Porto in October 2010, a result they reversed in Copenhagen a year later in the reverse qualifier. That match showed how Portugal hate coming up against physical sides and that is where Paulo Bento’s side are vulnerable. If the Danes get anything from Holland in match one and take Portugal’s scalp on their second start then the 9/2 to qualify could look huge.

Euro 2012 Group C Preview

Croatia to Qualify from Group C @ 2/1 – BET NOW

Spain look nailed on to top Group C (best price 13/20) after breezing through qualifying but second place is very much up for grabs. Italy have been far from convincing in the last two major finals and although they looked comfortable during qualifying they were drawn in an undemanding group. Croatia are their main threat and boast of squad filled with plenty of talent including Luka Modric, Ivica Olic, Ivan Rakitic and Danijel Pranjic and so the Italy v Croatia match on June 14th will be key with Croatia the value call.

Euro 2012 Group D Preview

(By Simon Hopper)

France to win Group D @ 2/1 – BET NOW

Opposing England is normally the best way to extract value from international tournaments and this group is no exception. France have an excellent record against the Three Lions (including playing them off the park in a 2-1 win at Wembley in 2010) and face Fabio Capello’s side first up, which is the perfect time to catch them. England have never won an opening game in this tournament and will struggle to break that run against Les Bleus, which should give the Euro 2000 winners a clear run to topping the group. Elsewhere, Sweden look short of creativity and deserve to be the outsiders, but Ukraine are a very well balanced side under the returning Oleh Blokhin and should go close to making the knockout stages.
