Betting Preview for Tuesday - Live on ATR

Leading horse racing betting expert Gavin Beech gives you his top tips from the Lingfield.

------------------------------------------------------------

LINGFIELD (AW)

2.30 - A few of these are better treated by the weights, not least Bin End, but the one with least to prove is EAGLE NEBULA who is versatile regarding trip and who was only just pipped in a better race over 2m at Kempton last time. Brett Johnson's 7yo has run well at this track before and he has the services of the excellent Kieren Fox, who is terrific value for his 3lb claim.

SELECTION: EAGLE NEBULA - BET HERE

3.00
- Only a few with serious claims and this will go to RUDEGIRL if the filly is anywhere near the level of form that saw her win a York maiden in October. Conor Dore's charge needs forgiving a poor run at Doncaster when last seen but that was in a hot class 2 handicap, so this represents a huge drop in class. That in itself is a slight concern but, if the market is sending out positive signals, this daughter of Trade Fair will be very hard to beat.

3.30 - Hurricane Lady caught the eye on her third start and has to be seriously considered but it might be worth taking a chance on ABEER who shaped with some promise on the second of three starts in maidens and she wasn't suited by dropping back to 6f when last seen. The daughter of Shamardal goes handicapping off a very modest mark and she returns at a time when Ed Dunlop's horses are going well. It's also encouraging that Richard Hills has decided to head to Lingfield for just the one ride.

SELECTION: ABEER - BET HERE

4.00 - James Fanshawe had a winning newcomer at Yarmouth on Monday so Suomi needs a market check but SONGSMITH has improved every time he's set foot on a racecourse and Lucy Wadham's colt sets quite a useful standard for the others to aim at. This is the first time he's tackled Polytrack but it'll be a surprise if he doesn't prove fully effective on this surface and this looks a golden opportunity to get off the mark.

SELECTION: SONGSMITH - BET HERE

4.30
- Not many of these have convincing enough profiles to make them a betting proposition, not least FAR VIEW, who's tendancy to hang is a concern. However, connections revert back to the same headgear combination in which the gelding went mighty close over course and distance on penultimate start and Matthew Davies, the only jockey to have won on the horse, returns to the saddle for the first time since steering the gelding to victory here in February.

SELECTION: FAR VIEW - BET HERE

5.00
- Weak fare but MR MAXIMUS has held his form well at Wolverhampton this winter and Bryn Palling's in-form contender has been placed on two of his three previous visits to Lingfield Park. He will arguably need a career-best to win off this new mark but he is only 2lb higher than when beaten a whisker at Wolverhampton and Declan Cannon's 3lb claim negates that anyway.

SELECTION: MR MAXIMUS - BET HERE
