Man City v Blackburn (Sat, 17:30, ESPN)
Recommended football betting tip:
Blackburn +2 Asian Handicap @ 19/17 – BET NOW
(*Price correct as of 22nd February)
Man City are considered absolute bankers at home to Blackburn on Saturday but it may be worth supporting the visitors with a gigantic start on the asian handicap at the Etihad Stadium.
Of course it’s impossible to pick any holes in City’s home form this season; they’ve won 12/12 in the Premier League and have triumphed by three or more goals in an astonishing 58% of those.
But Blackburn are not as bad away from home as their league position of 17th would suggest. Steve Kean’s side have lost just five league matches away from Ewood Park all season; only six clubs in the division have been defeated in fewer road fixtures this term. Rovers have already secured a win at Man United (3-2) and a draw at Liverpool (1-1) this season so they’ve demonstrated that they are capable of going to the big clubs and playing well. With ‘only’ three defeats in their last eight league games anywhere, Blackburn are not in terrible form and they haven’t played a game for two weeks so they should be in pretty good physical order. City, meanwhile, have had two Europa League games against Porto in that time, including a tiring trip to Portugal last week.
City are unlikely to slip up here but a price of 19/17 about Blackburn with a +2 start on the asian handicap is too good to ignore. A two goal home win would see your stake returned, so only a City win by three goals or more would result in you losing money.
Premier League Preview
Man City’s Premier League winner odds are currently a best price 4/6 as they are two points clear of Man United at the top; with the Reds not playing until Sunday, Roberto Mancini’s side can extend that lead to five points with victory here. Blackburn’s Premier League relegation odds are currently a best price 4/5 as they sit precariously in 17th place, just one place above the drop zone and they are only ahead of 18th place Wolves on goal difference.
