Recommended football betting tip:

Man United to win @ 1.92 (exchanges) – BET NOW

(*Price correct as of 8th February)

Manchester United remain absolutely exceptional at home and I cannot ignore the current Betfair price about them winning again at Old Trafford against Liverpool on Saturday.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have won nine of their 12 home Premier League games this season, for a win ratio of 75%. Going further back, they’ve won 27 of 31 from the start of last season (87%) and 43 of their last 50 (86%) over the past two and a half seasons! Only a handful of teams have avoided defeat here in recent years and it would take a truly exceptional side coming to Old Trafford to justify quotes of around 10/11 on a United win.

And while Liverpool are a good side, they’re still not great away from home. The Reds have lost five of their last 11 away Premier League games, scoring just 12 goals in that time, while Kenny Dalglish has lost nine of his 21 road fixtures in the league since returning as manager. That’s a loss ratio of over 42% and that simply must be improved if they are to regularly get back in the top four again. Liverpool’s points per game ratio has also dropped from 1.76 to 1.45 since Lucas got injured and the Brazilian is a massive loss in big games such as these.

I’m not saying Liverpool can’t win this game but United’s long term home form suggests that a price of 1.92 on a home victory is too big.

Premier League Preview

Man United are two points off Man City with 14 games left to play. Their Premier League winner odds are currently a best price 15/8 and they know a win here is vital as Man City will be expected to win at Aston Villa on Sunday. Liverpool are still only four points off the Champions League places and their current top four odds are a best price 10/3.
