Newcastle v Aston Villa (Sun, 13:30, SS1)
Recommended football betting tip:
Over 2.5 Goals @ 101/100 – BET NOW
A high flying side who welcome back two in form strikers against an inconsistent side with an erratic defence spells goals, goals, goals. Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse have returned from African Nations Cup duty to bolster a Newcastle attack that is already scoring for fun. Villa haven’t kept a clean sheet since Boxing Day and the defensive errors that have littered their last two fixtures will be of great concern to Alex McLeish. On the plus side Villa have started scoring goals and it’s no surprise given the attacking line up they choose with Darren Bent, Robbie Keane, Stephen Ireland and Charles N’Zogbia all capable of finding the net whilst Gabby Agbonlahor could also return to bolster their attack.
Villa’s away fixtures this season already average over 2.5 goals per game whilst Newcastle’s fixtures for the season also follow the same trend so at an ‘odds against’ price three goals or more here looks the value call.
Premier League Preview
Newcastle’s 2-0 win at hapless Blackburn in midweek dragged Alan Pardew’s men above Liverpool and Arsenal into 5th place and the Magpies are now a best price 11/4 to earn a top six finish this season. Villa’s 2-2 draw with QPR left them in 12th place and the bookmakers are offering odds of 6/4 that they finish in the top half this season.
