PJ’s Top Bets

With only Ffos Las having any chance of surviving of the National Hunt turf racing fixtures, the burden once again falls on the all-weather meetings at Lingfield Park and Wolverhampton. Paul Jacobs takes you through his top five tips of the afternoon below.

Lingfield Park Tips -

2.00 – Lingfield Park – This is competitive at its own level, but most of these to be truthful just win in their turn, but we could see a good pace on here and that will suit the Richard Guest trained CUT THE CACKLE who needs a good end to end gallop. She can step up on a fair second last time out when the race was hardly run at a breakneck pace. Waabel is another set to be suited by a fast gallop, while Waterloo Dock continues to run well at this level.

BET NOW – CUT THE CACKLE

2.30 – Lingfield Park – I like the look of another Guest runner here in SLATEY HEN who has enough weight, but will be dragged along by a very happy pace here. That should draw her into the contest and her finishing kick could be decisive. For that reason Memphis Man looks set to run his best race for a while, while Chjimes won last time out despite the minimum trip and is feared again stepping up to his bets distance.

BET NOW – SLATEY HEN

3.35 – Lingfield Park – If you go strictly by Cashelgar’s form from 2011 he would be a certainty to win this having finished within 13 lengths of So You Think no less. A good first run for new connections at 66/1 here last time out will give them hope again and I mark him down as the main danger to ART SCHOLAR who is worth backing in running as he needs an end to end gallop and may well get it here.

BET NOW ART SCHOLAR

4.35 – Lingfield Park – Burnhope and Roxelena hardly set the pulse racing in this maiden event and the Marco Botti trained newcomer INFORTUAL won’t have to be anything special on her first run to go close here and as always with the yard the betting will tell us plenty. She is certainly bred to win at this trip and could be a real mover in the market.

BET NOW - INFORTUAL

Wolverhampton Tips –

5.15 – Wolverhampton – This is low grade stuff to end the afternoon off with but there are a couple of these much better than they have shown of late and therefore very nicely weighted on their very best form. Strong Vigilance is certainly of interest of a mark of 61, but I anticipate a bit of money for the Mick Appleby trained OSSIE ARDILES at the bottom of the handicap. The trainer has been tearing his hair off about this horse and has fitted the visor as a last resort, any support in the market place would be very interesting.

BET NOW – ASSIE ARDILES
