PJ’s Best Bets

With the weather still doing its worst to inconvenience the betting industry the all-weather once again rules the roost with afternoon racing fixtures at Wolverhampton (from 2.00) and on the Fibresand at Southwell (1.15). On a difficult day’s racing Champion Tipster Paul Jacobs offers his value best bets of the day at Wolverhampton below.

Wolverhampton Tips –

2.00 – Wolverhampton – This looks sure to be a rattling fast run affair with Suddenly Susan and La Capriosa sure to be in the van from the start. The last named is surely better than her run here last time out and could close the gap on Shawkantango.  But that in turn could set the race up for the likes of STEELECUT and the enigmatic Absa Lutte. The former has a chance to reverse February 3rd form with the Derek Shaw’s charge and returns to his best distance with the added benefit of plenty of pace in the race. Old man Methaaly is dangerously well handicapped as well, but has less good days than bad.

BET NOW – STEELCUT

3.00 – Wolverhampton – It is to be hoped that Patriotic leads this field at a decent pace otherwise we could get a messy race, but connections may well identify that set-up and try and dominate from the start. He still looks fairly treated after landing the money here last week and is the biggest danger to McCOOL BANNANAS. The last named looked desperately unlucky in running behind Valley Tiger last time out and this looks his optimum trip. Master of Dance looks in good form as well and lost nothing in defeat when second to the impressive Daniel Thomas last time out.

BET NOW – McCOOL BANNANAS

4.00 – Wolverhampton - Kie makes this race from a set-up point of view and will surely try and make this a test under Paul Hanagan. He certainly has every chance at the current weights and looks a big danger to course specialist BOLD ADVENTURE who has not had the race run to suit of late. Willie Musson’s evergreen eight-year-old is 3lbs lower than his last winning run and is taken to swoop inside the distance. Dew Reward won nicely at Lingfield Park last time out and his 6lbs higher mark looks fair and the top weight looks a big player.

BET NOW – BOLD ADVENTURE
