PJ’s Best Bets

With the three scheduled National Hunt meetings called off due to the weather an extended Kempton Park racing fixture is the only action on the racing roster and features the 200th career run of Dvinsky, the last two races of the card are named after the veteran sprinter. Champion Tipster Paul Jacobs runs through his best bets of the day below.

Kempton Park Tips -

2.20 – Kempton Park – There is just the one confirmed front runner in the field, but several pressers so the pace should be fairly strong and if he gets the breaks the each-way call is RAIMOND RIDGE. The six-year-old finished with a real flourish down the outside of the track to finish fifth at Lingfield Park last time out and will quite obviously be a bigger price in running through the first half of the contest. Suhayl Star hasn’t won for a while but is becoming dangerously well handicapped, but an even bigger danger could come from White Shift, a fair third behind Rightcar last time out over six furlongs; this shorter trip suits him better.

BET NOW – RAIMOND RIDGE

3.25 Kempton Park – This looks a tricky little affair with the likes of Lady Caprice, Gin Twist and Russian Bullet in good form at the moment but the value could lie with MAJESTIC ROSE. The selection ran in some fair contests as a juvenile culminating in a close up effort at Newbury in a cracking nursery affair. A mark of 67 certainly looks within her range and she gets a narrow vote in a competitive little contest.

BET NOW – MAJETSIC ROSE

3.55 –Kempton Park – Although Satwa Laird is undoubtedly the pick of the weights here, I fancy he is not one to trust even though his best form has come in small fields and I am prepared to either lay him at a very short price or back RUSSIAN ICE against him. The selection was far from disgraced in a handicap at Lingfield Park last time out and returns to his favourite stomping ground.

BET NOW – RUSSIAN ICE

4.30 – Kempton Park – I was mightily impressed by the way Pale Orchid pulled away from a supposed handicap good thing over a furlong less here last time out and she is bound to be well suited to this extra distance of ground. But this looks a much better race and I think that DISCOVERER will prove too strong. The John Gosden runner worked harder than I thought he would to win at Lingfield last time out over Ashdown Lad, but has bags of scope to improve. This gallop over this distance should prove perfect and he can land this before being stepped up in grade again.

BET NOW - DISCOVERER
