WHERE: The Old White TPC, White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
NOTES ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT: Tiger Woods makes just his second visit to West Virginia and will face a field that includes six of the top-30 in the world rankings headed by Bubba Watson, who has a summer home nearby. Three of the last five winners of the Greenbrier have come from at least four shots off the pace, while no 54-hole leader has managed to hang on to win since the event began.
COURSE CHARACTERISTICS: The 7,287yd track consistently ranks as one of the easiest par-70s used on the tour. However, it was toughened up after the 2012 edition and both par-5s are on the inward half. Scoring is often low and it's one of the few layouts on the tour that has a par-3 finishing hole.
THE MAIN MEN
BUBBA WATSON (12-1): Has eight rounds in the 60s in the Greenbrier Classic but has still not recorded a top-10 finish. Good chance he will this time after landing the Travelers Championship on Sunday.
PAUL CASEY (25-1): Makes his Greenbrier Classic debut and might be in with a decent chance after going close at River Highlands (lost play-off) on Sunday.
WEBB SIMPSON (28-1): Made it three top-10s from his last four starts in this contest when third 12 months ago. Also led after 54-holes in 2012 before finishing seventh. Excellent recent second in Wells Fargo Championship.
J B HOLMES (30-1): The reigning Houston Open champion has yet to register a top-10 but he has finished inside the top-25 on two occasions. Look destined for a high finish in the recent US Open until a 76 on the final day.
PATRICK REED (30-1): Led at the halfway stage of the US Open earlier this month before finishing a respectable 14th and has to be on the short-list on that showing.
BILL HAAS (33-1): Lost out in the 2011 play-off for this tournament and was ninth two seasons later. Latest form includes an outstanding fourth in the PLAYERS Championship.
LOUIS OOSTHUIZEN (33-1): Decent first effort at Old White when 17th two years ago and that performance along with a tied second in the US Open earns him plenty of respect.
KEEGAN BRADLEY (35-1): Produced his first finish of any note when nailing fourth last year after a Sunday 66. Missed just two cuts this year and the most recent of three top-10s was an eighth in the Memorial.
KEVIN KISNER (35-1): One to consider as four top-10s in 2015 include two runner-up finishes and one of those was in the PLAYERS Championship. Very decent tied 12th in the US Open last time out.
TONY FINAU (40-1): Has been knocking on the door in recent months, racking up two top-10s and three top-20s with one of the latter coming in the US Open. The rookie could get off the mark here.
KEVIN NA (45-1): Made the cut on all three appearances at the Old White TPC and a seventh in 2012 is the stand-out result. I've tipped him a few times this year and am going to stick with him again.
BRENDON TODD (50-1): Jumped 15 places up the leaderboard after a Sunday round of 66 earned fourth spot last year. Could be in the running again having posted two top-20s either side of missed cut in the US Open.
GEORGE McNEILL (50-1): Closed with a superb round of 61 to finish runner-up in last year's edition of the Greenbrier. Missed the cut at the US Open but was a very good fifth at Colonial prior to that.
JUSTIN THOMAS (55-1): Form has dipped slightly of late, but can't ignore a superb tied seventh at the tough Quail Hollow in May.
PAT PEREZ (70-1): Finished inside the top-10 twice from four outings in this tournament. Playing very consistently of late and is worth a small each-way punt at current odds.
ROBERT STREB (80-1): The best of three top-10s in 2015 came in the Wells Fargo Championship in which he shared fourth spot. Notched a couple of decent top-20s since then.
CHRIS STROUD (80-1): As he recorded his best finish in this when fourth (also ninth in 2010) 12 months ago and bounced right back to form with a tied 10th last Sunday, I reckon the bookies are being very generous.
